Echo of the resurgent corona spread: Hindu Religious Endowment Board imposes restrictions on devotees!

As the echo of the resurgent fast-spreading coronavirus all over the country, the higher officials of the Hindu Religious Endowment Board have informed that the restrictions are being reimposed on the devotees from tomorrow (Saturday, 10th April).

In the famous Lord Sri, Kapaleeswarar temple located in the Chennai Metro City Mylapore, THE DEVOTEES HAVE NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO ENTER THE SANCTUM SANCTORUM OF THE MAIN DEITIES OF Lord Kapaleeswarar and his consort Goddess Karpaghambal right from the Panguni Festival.

Arrangements have been made for the devotees to have the Darshan of the Lord and the Goddess from outside the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Devotees MUST wear face masks and are given sanitisers to wash their hands.

Apart from this, the body temperature of the devotees are checked and only those who are normal are permitted to enter the Temple Complex!

The devotees are emphasised to strictly follow the social distancing norms.

Since the resurgence of the raging spread of the coronavirus, with the State Government of Tamil Nadu having imposed stringent regulations to be followed, all the temples/religious praying spots are closed by 8.00 PM. All the temples have appealed to the devotees to cooperate whole-heartedly,

The devotees are advised NOT TO BRING the Pooja Items such as coconut, fruits, and flowers! It has also been appealed that senior citizens above 60 years of age and children below 10 years of age are NOT encouraged to visit the temple.

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has emphasised that NO PERMISSION IS GIVEN TO ORGANISE TEMPLE/RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS AS WELL AS RELIGIOUS MEETINGS!

However, the usual daily events in the temple of performing poojas and prayers as per scheduled time will continue and there are no restrictions on this!

In this regard, it may be recalled that the famous Chithitrai festival (Festival performed with the start of the Tamil calendar month of Chithitrai (considered as holy) performed in most temples all over the State of Tamil Nadu was not performed last year (2020)!

With the resurgence of the raging coronavirus, it has become a question whether the Chithitrai Festivals will not be allowed this year as well for the 2nd successive year!

However, all the temples have been strictly following  the guidelines set by the State Government of Tamil Nadu.

Presently, from tomorrow (Saturday, 10th April), the restrictions are set to be imposed in all the temples throughout the State of Tamil Nadu including the Kapaleeswarar Temple in Mylapore.
