Large crowds witnessed in Chennai shops due to Aadi month

Chennai crowds and Adi month are inseparable!!
It is normal to see people going to T. Nagar to buy goods at low amounts at the beginning of the Tamil month of Aadi. This time around there was a huge crowd in Ranganathan Street in T. Nagar in Chennai.
Crowds of people throng streets having shops in the month of August to buy textiles and household items as they could be got at cheap prices. The easing of small shops to large stores has been echoed and this despite the announcement of curfew due to Coronavirus infection pandemic.
Yesterday, 17th July, the Aadi month started is well known. There were announcements made by the stores regarding discounts offered to the public. There were huge crowds witnessed at the textile shops in Chennai and many came to buy textile at cheap rates. Information is shops selling electronics and home appliances have jumped into the bandwagon.
