Less than third fresh Coronavirus cases reported in Chennai, highest ever tested in a single day TN

On Thursday, 9th July 2020, Tamil Nadu recorded as many as fresh 4231 Coronavirus positive cases. Truth is Chennai city had recorded less than third of these fresh cases. In Chennai, the total number of patients discharged after getting treated went above 50,000.
It is known that for 3 successive days TN recorded less than 4000 cases from Monday to Wednesday. Yesterday, as many as 4231 persons tested positive for the infection. By this, the overall tally has reached 126,581 till now. It must be taken into account that yesterday a 25 day old baby succumbed to Coronavirus infection after she was admitted for a congenital anomaly. This baby was amongst 65 fatalities reported in TN.
For the third consecutive day, Chennai city continued to stay in the 1200 mark. There were as many as 1216 Coronavirus cases and by this Chennai city overall count was at 73,728.The recovery rate in TN stood at 61 percent and as many as 3994 persons got discharged after treatment. In the state of TN till now, as many as 78161 persons got discharged after treatment for Covid- 19 infection and as many as 46,652 are still under treatment.
On Thursday, as many as4,23,689 samples were tested across TN and this was the highest ever tested for the single day. Till now, the total number of samples that were tested in TN was 1491783.From the other parts of TN more than 70% of Coronavirus positive cases were reported. There were as many as364 cases from Tiruvallur.
