IT professionals of Chennai are suffering mentally and financially due to layoff from lockdown

Chennai city is home for many top IT firms and there are many people who work in these IT companies.
Beginning from March, Chennai has been under lockdown for containing the spread of Coronavirus infection pandemic. The white-collar professionals have been suffering badly both mentally as well as financially now from the layoff for the last 3 months.
A professional belonging to Chennai expressed her thoughts. She explained how from the middle of April she did not have any work due to the lockdown. She revealed that the shutdown has reduced her savings and the money would be just enough for her to live for another 3 months. This professional in Chennai who doesn’t want to depend on her parents for money has no other option left other than asking money from them.
It was later mentioned by another Chennai based IT professional that parental support was very important in difficult times. He spoke about how he was asked to quit from the IT firm for which he worked for 4 years. He hinted that his parents were unhappy that he had resigned from the company. He was of the view that the added pressure from parents was not helping.
It must be noted that life doesn’t come to standstill even in the lockdown period and it goes on. There are some IT professionals who have shifted their houses in this lockdown period due to a lack of work opportunities. This has created lots of financial issues.
