In June and July, first phase of census to be held in TN

The state government had communicated with the census department. The first phase of census 2021 would take place in the months of June and July for a time of 45 days. In 2021 in the month of February from 9th to 28th, the second phase of census would take place in TN.
There would be house listing and house census in the first phase and as many as 34 questions would be posed to every household. In TN from the year, 1971 onwards census has been done in 2 phases.
From three years back itself, preparations have been going on for the upcoming census. Number of districts present in a state has been used to prepare maps. Based on the state, district, taluk, town panchayat, village panchayat, municipality, corporation and ward etc there is a number code.
The official belonging to the census department brought to light that an enumerator working in a ward in Chennai city would be collecting details under numerical code. There are totally 37 districts present in TN including the newly formed ones and it is clear that arrangement for enumeration has been made even for the newly formed districts in TN. He added that any further division of the districts would not reflect in the upcoming census. In April-May months, training of enumerators would begin.
In the first step, 4 national trainers have been deputed for the stat of TN and they would train master trainers at the district level. There would be about 1.5 lakh enumerators mostly school teachers who would be on the field. The enumerators would be trained to handle census app in the 3-day training programme. These enumerators would use the smartphone with apps installed and all the entry would be done using apps only. For a time of 20 minutes, enumeration would take place for every household in the first phase.
For the purpose of enumeration along the borders, people who are well versed with Tamil plus a regional language would be deployed. In all the regional languages, apps could be downloaded.
