Reduction of quantity in the arrival of vegetable leads to price rise (carrot, tomato)

The price of tomato and carrot has gone up in the Chennai Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market. With the intensity of heat in scorching summer increasing every passing day, the quantity of vegetables arriving at the Chennai Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market. This has led to an increase in prices of most vegetables.
Carrot, which was sold at Rs. 30 per kg last week, was sold yesterday at Rs. 40 per kg. Tomato which sold at Rs. 25 per kg has now gone up to Rs. 30 per kg. Further, the prices of other vegetables per kg in Rs. had also shot up Potato -17, radish-25, snake gourd and drumstick- 20, and green chilli-35.
Other vegetables are sold at Rs. per kg as follows: Onion-13. Small (sambar) onion-30, brinjal-20, broad-beans (avarai)-35, ladys finger (Vendai)- and cabbage-15, bitter gourd and beetroot-25, and beans-60.
The Chennai Koyambedu wholesale vegetable traders shared in this regard: As the impact of the summer heat has increased considerably, shortage of irrigation water, withering and falling of flowers, etc., have resulted in the reduction of the quantity of vegetables arriving in the wholesale vegetable market. So, the prices have increased.
