Perfect conditions as per the Chennai airport sounding data. Cape of over 3000 joules, K-index of over 40, pw of 65 mm and no suppression with CIN of -14. Too perfect conditions for rains in Chennai.
Kancheepuram is getting a pounding and Very heavy rains are lashing right now. It has to be tracked how it`s moving towards Chennai. It`s a very slow moving one.
Meanwhile Sivaganga and Pudukottai got rains as interpreted in the morning. It was one hell of a place for convective Rainfall.
With out a hint of doubt the intense rains of the year for Chennai. Even better than the June 6, 19, 23 and July 6th spells. Chennai city has recorded 40 mm in few minutes. It`s like a cloud burst.
