Petrol price hiked by Rs 2.21 per litre, diesel by Rs 1.79 per litre

Petrol price was on Friday hiked by Rs 2.21 per litre and diesel by Rs 1.79 per litre. Revised rates will take effect from midnight.
The hike announced by oil companies is excluding state levies.Rates will differ from state to state due to differential local sales tax or VAT rates.
After the price revision, a litre of petrol in Chennai will now cost Rs. 68.41 per litre and diesel will cost Rs. 58.28 per litre.
