Online cracker business crosses Rs 100 Crores

On the occasion of Deepavali, the online cracker business in Sivakasi has crossed Rs 100 Crores.
Deepavali festival is celebrated on 10th November. There is brisk business in cracker sale in Sivakasi. Thousands of people are coming to Sivakasi to purchase crackers from all parts of the country. There is heavy traffic congestion because of this.
Apart from wholesale and retail business, crackers are also sold on online for the last three years. Apart from stalwarts, even small outlets are indulged in online business. When compared to the last two years, this year there is brisk business in online.
T Kannan, general secretary of The Indian Fireworks Manufacturers Association while speaking about online business said, "Compared to the last two years, the online business for this year has considerably increased. Apart from major business firms even small firms are indulged in the online business. Because of this, the sales of crackers have crossed Rs 100 Crores."
