Rise in Onion Price Again: 40% Hike in a Week

Due to lack of the seasonal rainfall in the onion production state, onion production has been deeply affected. Because of which the onion price have been hiked for about 40% for the last week alone.
On 10 April, the price of one quintal Onion ranges from Rs.575 to Rs.801. Suddenly the rate has been raised and it ranges from Rs.750 to Rs.1011 per quintal onion on 17 April.
Hence as per Chennai rate, one kilo of onion price ranges from Rs 12 to Rs.15. It is anticipated that this rate may go high, in the upcoming days.
