As the city got the first underground metro lines connecting Nehru Park and Thirumangalam, the CMRL helpline is continuously receiving calls. Commuters make 3 times more calls to get help to board trains and switch between corridors.

Metro stations not to merge with MRTS in phase 2
A part of the phase 2 of Chennai Metro Rail will be running in parallel with the existing MRTS routes. So, commuters can get out of the metro stations or go by the walkway for entering the MRTS facilities.

New metro lines to facilitate Chennai techies

20% Concession offered by Metro Rail
With the ongoing festive season, the Chennai Metro Rail has offered a concession of 20% in the fares for travelling in the Metro.

CMRL underground tunnelling work in Anna Salai nearing completion
A section of the underground tunnelling work for the Chennai Metro Rail Project in Anna Salai in the stretch between Little Mount and AG-DMS (Teynampet) for a distance of 4 km has been completed.

Chennai Metro Rail Service to be extended up to Poonamallee
The Chief Minister E, Palanisamy announced in the Legislative Assembly that the 4th corridor of the Chennai Metro Rail Project would be extended up to Poonamallee.

No toll charges in case of waiting for more than 3 minutes at the tollgate
It is learnt that there will be no toll charges if the waiting exceeds 3 minutes. Whenever travelling and crossing from one district to another or from one state to another by road, one needs to pay the toll gate customs charges at the customs toll gate

Direct Metro rail services from Nehru Park to Airport
Presently, the Chennai Metro Rail services operate in 2 segments � from Nehru Park to St. Thomas Mount and Little Mount to Airport.
