Manage or control your blood sugar levels by consuming these important foods!!

These days, having high blood sugar levels or diabetes has become very common. People try to keep the blood sugar levels in control to be free away from further complications.

It is well known to us that high blood sugar or hyperglycaemia is a measure of glucose concentrated in the blood of humans. Before the first meal of the day, the glucose levels would be normal and they would rise after meals by a few millimoles for an hour etc. Information is that when the fasting value of blood sugar is 70 mg/dl and the post-prandial value below 140 mg/dl then the person is said to be normal without diabetes.

It would be possible to keep the blood sugar levels in control or manage by consuming certain foods and drinks. These are

Intake of beans:
Foods like lentils, kidney beans etc are low in glycemic index and their carbohydrates would be released gradually. Point is that intake of these would not cause a spike in the levels of blood sugars.

Intake of apples:
Apples could provide us with plenty of health benefits as they are high in fibres, vitamin C plus free from fats etc. Apples have low glycemic index and therefore could be consumed to manage the blood sugar levels.

Intake of spinach:
The presence of magnesium and fibres in spinach would be superb for our health. We could manage our blood sugar levels by consuming this green leafy vegetable.

Intake of chia seeds:
By losing our excess body weight, we would be able to improve blood sugar levels in us. We could lose weight by consuming chia seeds containing fibres, proteins plus others like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus etc.

Intake of oatmeal:
Not many know the fact that oat meal could help in managing the blood sugar levels also. It must be noted that oatmeal would refer to preparation of oats by de-husking, steaming and flattening etc. it is learnt that steel cut and rolled oats have got low glycemic index similar to apples etc.

Intake of turmeric or haldi:
The presence of cucurmin in turmeric would provide many health benefits. Our pancreas would be kept healthy and by this we would not get diabetes issues. Turmeric could be added to daily cooking or could be consumed as turmeric milk also.

Intake of blueberries:
We could keep heart diseases at bay by consuming blueberries. Insulin sensitivity in overweight or obese persons could be improved by having 2 cups of blueberries every day. Blueberries are full of f fibres plus antioxidants, vitamin C etc.

Intake of garlic:
We would be able to manage or control blood sugar levels by consuming garlic also. When a person consumes garlic his or her secretion and sensitivity of insulin would become better.
