Who doesn’t have stress these days?

Stress can affect not only men but also women. It is true that stress could affect both mental as well as physical health of a woman. By this, every aspect of the life of a woman would get affected. Various reasons for stress in women are financial issues, relationship issues, job issues, health issues etc.

When a woman is under severe stress, then she would have increased cortisol secretions and this would mess up with her menstrual cycle also. The woman under stress might skip her periods totally or could have irregular periods etc. Stress is defined as the state or mental or emotional strain due to several demanding reasons.

Various symptoms or signs that a woman is under stress are headaches, sleep issues, tiredness, pain in the back, weight gain, skin issuses, upset stomach, lack of interest in sexual relationship etc.

Menstrual cycle of a woman could get affected by stress in these ways.

Missed periods:
When a woman is stressed, then there are chances that she might miss one or more periods. Stress might stop periods or shorten the cycle or lengthen the cycle or delay also. Many women experience this issue when they get stressed.

Painful periods:
It is true that stress in a woman could lead to painful periods or dysmenorrhoea. The woman would have severe bleeding plus painful abdominal cramps etc. By this, the productivity and concentration of the women would be lost.

Heavy blood flow:
This is another issue that could result when a woman get stressed. This would be very difficult for the woman and she would not be able to do her daily activities also.

Worsening of PMS:
PMS would become worse when a woman is under severe stress. Point is that abdominal pain, cramps and mood swings would become more.
