We all would have come across the term inflammation many times.

It is important to note inflammation is our body’s natural mechanism to fight foreign invaders and protect us from various infections, health issues and diseases etc. Whenever a person gets injured then his or her body part becomes reddened, swollen and painful etc. This localised physical condition is called inflammation. Two types of inflammation are acute inflammation and chronic inflammation. The difference between them is that acute inflammation is short term whereas chronic inflammation is long lasting in nature. Truth is that diseases such as cancer, arthritis etc are linked to chronic inflammation.

There are certain daily habits that would fight lifestyle diseases and to keep inflammation away and these are

By intake of anti-inflammatory diet:
Our body processes would get slowed down when we consume spices such as turmeric, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, garlic etc.  These could result in inflammation. It would be superb to eat greens like spinach, methi, coriander etc as these would reduce inflammation.

By avoiding alcohol, tobacco etc:
We could get more inflammation when we consume alcohol or tobacco etc.  These would finally damage our tissues and organs. We could get major health issues in us.

By including fruits, nuts and seeds:
We could get protection against inflammation by consuming foods like blueberries, almonds, lentils etc. By eating these foods we could get a wholesome food experience.

By doing exercise regularly:
It is good to do yoga daily for some time and this would reduce the stress hormone cortisol in us. By doing yoga regularly, we would have reduced anxiety and would have fewer symptoms of inflammation. Our cholesterol as well as blood sugar levels would be controlled well. Our oxidative stress would be reduced and our happy hormones would get boosted.

By sleeping well:
In the hectic work schedule, many of us do not find time to sleep well. There are many people who sleep for a very short duration of time. It is essential that we must get both quality as well as quantity of sleep for our health to be good.  It is important that we must choose a cool dark room for sleeping. A person must sleep well for atleast 6 hours every night.

By managing stress:
We could feel relieved from tension and stress by doing various physical activities like walking, running, swimming etc. It is true that these physical activities would improve our mood.
