Not many would have known what an endive is. Belonging to genus ’Cichorium’, endive is a leaf vegetable.  It is scientifically called as ‘Cichorium Endivia’. The point is endive is spherical and wide and it has got many health benefits. There are many ingredients in this endive that makes them very important for us. These ingredients are carbohydrates, dietary fibre, folate, vitamin C and K. The various minerals that are present in endive are calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium.

The several health benefits we could get by consuming endive are

Helps in healthy pregnancy:

It is said that the folic acid present in endive plays a great role in the pregnant mothers. Uterus developed would be healthy plus there would be not be any chance of congenital diseases etc.

Good for eye health:

Our vision gets improved when we consume endive. Onset of eye issues like cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration etc could be avoided. By consuming endive we could also fight off the factors that would negatively affect our eyes.
