How to stay healthy this winter?

Now being a period of less temperature and increasing health problems, it is high time for you to boost your health.
 
When asked health practitioners, they will certainly want you to show some extra care to be shown. One of the doctors in the city says we need to be extra cautious and careful when it is winter season. Our immune system is likely to get affected with changing weather conditions. This is the time when one should be extra careful about their food habits and upkeep the immunity level. Among the common problems we face during this season are viral infections, flu, allergy, fever, breathing disorders, to name a few. One needs to know the ways in which one can avoid such Seasonal Affective Disorders (SAD).

·         Include lot of fresh fruits and vegetables and make your diet healthy. You can make the cold days soothing with homemade vegetable soups. In addition to aiding your immune system, they also help in providing your body with rich anti-oxidants

·         Overeating and wrong food habits are likely to increase your body weight, beware!You can choose comfort food in moderation and in winter, you get tempted to indulge more in eating. You very well get tempted towards snacking and eating hot fried foods

·         Follow an exercise regimen. Just because of the dip in temperature, do not turn out to be a couch potato. Indoor games and activities or even dancing can also be a good replacement for exercise. Have the windows open to have fresh air coming in

·         Take enough rest. Stress will deplete your body immune system and pave way for infections. If you find anything tough with getting enough sleep, identify the issue and resolve it

·         It is always better to take preventive measures; consult with a general physician and take preventive care needed to be taken this season. Of all, the influenza is weakening viral illness that attacks even the healthiest

·         For common cold, home remedies or medicines are recommended to reduce the duration of symptoms and prevent onset of running nose and fevers

·         As a precaution to spreading virus and affecting other family members, discard used tissues directly to the bin

·         Take foods that strengthen your immune system and help you fight cold. Nuts are good source too
