Announcement of awards by Tamil Isai Sangam

Tamil Music Academy has announced the Music Doctorate Awards for the year 2013.Bharathanatyam dance exponent Ms. Krishnakumari Narendran gets the Doctorate in Music and Othuvar Seerkazhi Mr. S. Gnanasambandan gets the Doctorate in devotional music.
Tamil Isai Sangam will be conducting its 71st annual music festival at Raja Annamalai Hall in Mount Road, Chennai from 21st December. Former Jharkhand state High Court Chief Justice and the president of the Central Water Boar, Mr. Karpaga Vinayagam, will be presiding the function and conferring the awards.
Ms. Krishnakumari Narendran was teaching Bharathanatyam over the last 40 years in her dance school, ‘Abhinaya Natyalaya’. Mr. S. Gnanasambandan has been the main devotional singer in Seerkhazhi Brahmapureeswarar Temple over the last 55 years.
