Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa announces Rs 10 crore to encourage sports

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in order to encourage more participants to represent Tamil Nadu at national and international sports events has sanctioned Rs 10 Crores. The fund will help conduct district-level, zonal-level, state-level Republic Day/Bharathiar day events, state-level athletics and selection games to send prospective candidates to attend events conducted by the School Games Federation of India and help students participate at national and international events. The government has proposed to conduct block-level sports meet for the first time.
