Extended power cuts in many Chennai localities are now creating issues for the residents!!
The extended power disruptions and voltage fluctuations have become common now in many places in Chennai. It must be noted that despite Tangedco mentioning that it doesn`t stop power supply during the public examination time the reality has been totally different.
It must be recalled that in a recent meeting the minister Mr. Thangam Thennarasu has told the officials that any unexpected reason for power disruption must be resolved within 30minutes.
In Mylapore, an important residential locality in Chennai, there has been power cuts for about 45minutes for the last few days. As a result, the residents here are unhappy. As per an officer from Tangedco, the issue in Mylapore was due to cable fault
There have been power disruption issues and this was as per some residents from places like Moggappair, Choolaimedu, Jafferkhanpet, Pallavaram etc. The residents found it tough to contact the Minnagam call centre. It was later brought out by some officials from Tangedco that power outages were due to feeder tripping due to overload, damage to the underground cables due to CMRL works and other departmental etc. It was later revealed by a Taangedco officer that teams have been formed in all divisions for speedy restoration of power
