Suspension of MRTS between Chennai Beach and Chintadripet for another 4 months!!

To facilitate the construction of a 4.1km fourth line between Chennai Beach and Egmore stations, MRTS services between 2 stations on Beach and Velachery were suspended in August 2023.
Now, it is said that the MRTS services between Chennai Beach and Chintadripet stations will remain suspended for 4 more months. The MRTS services would not be restored until June 2024. This was according to the officers belonging to the southern railways or SR.
It must be taken into account that initially the MRTS services were scheduled to be restored in March 2024 after the completion of the fourth line.
