Happy news for residents about the completion of Kilambakkam railway station!!

After the shifting of bus operations to the new bus terminal at Kilambakkam in southern part of Chennai, the residents have been finding it difficult is a known fact. Efforts are being taken to help the residents to reach the Kilambakkam bus terminus.
The superb piece of news that has come out is that by December 2024 the railway station and skywalk would be completed at Kilambakkam. This was confirmed by Mr. Eerya Viswanath, divisional railway manager of southern railways or SR. The work on the construction of the railway station has been started.
Mr. R.N. Singh, GM of SR spoke about how there was some issue regarding relocation and land acquisition etc for the fourth terminal project at Villivakkam in Chennai. He added that the railways have been in touch with the stakeholders within the railways to solve the issue.
On Tuesday, 12th march, PM of India Mr. Narendra Modi would be inaugurating many railway works like Chennai- Mysore, Trivandrum- Kasargod Vande Bharat train services. This was mentioned by Mr. R.N. Singh. It is learnt that there has been a significant jump in the overall revenue in the current fiscal year or FY for the southern railways ending this month.
