Traffic Diversions at Thirumangalam Junction for Metro Rail Work

Posted on: 26/Mar/2023 11:30:28 AM
Traffic diversions at Thirumangalam junction to facilitate metro rail work have been implemented by the Chennai traffic police. Motorists coming on Ambattur Estate Road and going towards Koyambedu or Anna Nagar 2nd Avenue will not be able to take a right turn into Jawaharlal Nehru Road at Thirumangalam junction. Instead, they must cut across Jawaharlal Nehru Road to enter 15th Main Road and take a right turn into 13th Main Road until they reach the 4th Avenue junction, and then turn right to reach Jawaharlal Nehru Road to go towards Koyambedu. Those going towards Round Tana can turn left into 2nd Avenue from 13th Main Road.

Vehicles coming on 2nd Avenue will not be able to take a left turn at Thirumangalam junction to go towards Koyambedu and will have to go via 13th Main Road. The Thirumangalam flyover is open to traffic, and vehicles coming on Jawaharlal Nehru Road from the Padi/Villivakkam side can continue on the flyover to reach Koyambedu. Although traffic signals for the diversions have not been installed yet, traffic police personnel and metro rail staff have been posted at the junctions to regulate the traffic.
