Medavakkam residents unhappy - Sorry state of Medavakkam locality in south Chennai!!

In south Chennai, Medavakkam is an important residential locality is known. Here, the main road that connects Medavakkam and Kovilambakkam is not in good condition now due to the meto works. The 2 way road has been reduced to a size of one way road here and this has been leading to heavy traffic congestion and accidents etc.
In the month of March in 2022, the metro phase 2 work between Madhavaram and Sholinganallur began. The road size has been reduced now due to the metro phase 2 works and few accidents take place here. Skidding of the vehicles due to the sand plus collisions with other vehicles happen here and this was mentioned by a resident. The absence of street lights is also creating issues for the residents here. The lack of street lights has been making travelling very difficult in the nights and on the rainy days too.
Not only the main road, but also the interior roads in Medavakkam Koot Road have not been laid properly. It must be noted that the interior roads like Vadakkupattu Road here cannot be repaired also. The unevenness and the presence of rocks on the roads pose a huge threat for many.
It was revealed by another resident that the pot holes get filled with sand and in the rainy season the sand gets washed away. Point is that these roads could lead to severe pollution apart from traffic congestions and accidents etc. The residents here are unhappy regarding the poor road conditions and want them to be repaired soon.
