Veeranam water in Chennai soon

After heavy rainfall in Cauvery Water Catchment Areas and frequent discharge of water from Mettur Reservoir, Veeranam lake has enough to quench the thirst of Chennaites. Water Resource Organisation officials confiermed the gradual increase of Veeranam water level. Water can be pumped from Veeranam lake as soon as the capacity level reaches 90mcft (million cubic feet).
CMWSSB (Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board) would likely to start tapping of water from Veeranam lake top Chennai before end of this month.
