Agni Nakshatram, the peak summer period is set to commence today (Wednesday, 4th May) and will conclude on 28th May! Here are a few health tips to follow in this period:

The scorching heat will pose unlimited hardship to the public! Especially in the peak summer period, known well as Agni Naksathram, the summer will be at its peak!

As per Tamil Calendar, Agni Naksathram will be usually from Tamil Month Cithara 21st to the 14th of the Tamil Month Vaikasi. When Sun enters the Zodiac sign Aries (Mesham), peak summer is reached and it will be extreme. This period is known as Agni Naksathram.

This year’s Agni Naksathram is from 4th May to 28th May.

As such, there is intense heat being experienced all over the State of Tamil Nadu! As per the analysts and astrologists, Sun’s rays fall directly on the planet Earth during this period.

Here are a few tips to encounter the scorching period:
  • Drink more water! Ensure daily intake of 3 litres of water!
  • Take preventive action to avoid heatstroke! With increasing age, the capacity to withstand the heat reduces. This is the reason for senior citizens getting heat strokes. Heatstroke may lead to fever, breathing problems, nausea, vomiting, headache and giddiness!
  • Eat simple food items! Eat less food more times a day! Avoid carbohydrate-rich food! Fat-rich food as well! Eat more fruits, vegetables, and greens! Take watermelon, orange, and tomato which are rich in water content!
  • Drink tender coconut! It has many health benefits! It helps prevent summer fatigue!
