Heavy fog in Chennai - vehicle drivers hardship! - planes diverted!

There has been a very heavy fog in the Chennai Metro City. Due to this, 5 aircraft which were scheduled to arrive in Chennai was diverted to Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram.

The aircraft from Muscat, Australia and the flight from Delhi were diverted to Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram.

Due to this heavy fog, the vehicle drivers have been put to great hardships not only in Chennai but also in Nagappattinam and Villupuram.

The severe wintry conditions and the extremely chilly climate in Delhi and other northern states have put the people to great discomfort.

In Delhi, the temperatures have been as low as 1.9 Degrees Celsius to 2.4 Degrees Celsius, unprecedented in the last 118 years and ‘Red Alert’ warning.

A rather chilly climate has prevailed during this winter this year in various northern states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat Punjab, Haryana, and Odisha.

In this situation, the snow which was rather minimal during the past few days has changed to intensive snow and fog condition today (Saturday, 4th January). The vehicle drivers were really put to great hardships.

As the roads were not at all visible, the vehicle drivers need to keep the headlights on while driving. Due to the intense foggy climate, aircrafts due to arrive in Chennai Metro City were diverted. Similarly, some flights from Chennai Metro City was delayed.

The weather bureau has informed that this foggy condition will prevail over the next few days!
