Prospects of heavy rain in Chennai, Thoothukkudi and Tirunelveli

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of heavy rains in the next 3 days in a few places in Tamil Nadu.
Following an hour’s rain in several places in the Chennai Metro City, a cool and pleasant atmosphere prevailed. It rained in Kodambakkam, Nungambakkam, Guindy, Anna Salai, and Taramani.
The public, having experienced oppressive heat in the noon sessions were really relieved and delighted with the night rains!
There was medium rain in several places Pudhukkottai district including Vayalokam, Kudumiyanmalai, and Perumaanadu.
The farmers were also delighted with the rains and expressed that if the rain continued for the next few days, all the withering crops can be retrieved and recovered for growth.
There were heavy rains for 2 hours from 6.00 PM yesterday (Friday, 12th July) in Vellore district Vaniyambadi and its surroundings. As the public had been experiencing very acute water shortage all these days, they were delighted with the sudden heavy rains!
There are also mild rains with thunder in Virudhunagar district Srivilliputhur and its surroundings. This greatly reduced the oppressive intensity of heat and a cool and pleasant atmosphere prevailed.
In the above scenario, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of mild to medium rains in the next 3 days in the coastal and southern districts and also prospects of heavy rains in a few places.
Further, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of heavy rains in the districts of Thoothukkudi, Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Theni, and Dindigul.
As regards the Chennai Metro City, there are prospects of mild rain during the night session.
