As cyclone Fani crosses coast, heavy rains with strong winds in Odisha

A low-pressure zone formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal a few days ago. This intensified into a deep depression zone and then transformed into an extremely violent cyclone and has started drifting towards the northeast to the state of Odisha. It was estimated that this cyclone will cross the coast between 8.00 AM to 11.00 AM today (Friday, 3rd February) morning.
Accordingly, the Odisha Meteorological Centre has informed that the cyclone Fani was crossing the coast between Gopalpur0Chandbali. The impact of the cyclone will last until 11.00 AM.
As the cyclone has started crossing the coast, there has been heavy rain with strong winds in Odisha. It is expected that the cyclone Fani will cause great damage to the state of Odisha.
