International Jewellery Exhibition to be held in the city

Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants Association (MJDMA) in association with United Business Media (UBM) is organizing the Gem and Jewellery India International Exhibition in Chennai this year. The 9th edition of the Exhibition will be held on March 16th, 17th and 18th of this year.
Speaking to the media, UBM Group Director Kranti Nagvekar said, ‘Chennai being the gold hub of the country, we expect big buyers from Hong Kong, Dubai, Bangladesh, Nepal and Philippines among others, to visit the exhibition. In India, gold jewellery is still considered an ‘investment’, but buyers from abroad are more particular about designs. They emphasise on innovations and the manufacturing quality of jewellery, more than even the carat value.’
