Cyclone Phethai is almost parallel to our Chennai latitude and Chennai has seen its coldest day of the year

This is the closest Phethai will come before moving up. One side of Phethai there is no clouds and sheared off. Only western side of the centre there is clouds.
In the next spin the western bands has to fall over us else it will be too late as it will move up and the unlucky saga of KTC rains this monsoon continues.
If it has to rain in Chennai from Phethai it has to be next few hours else it is a waste of time expecting rains from it. We gave two options day before yesterday. Option 1 if the bands fall over us, we will get semma rains. Option 2 if the bands stay away, we wont get much rains. The result is it has panned out as option 2 till now. Too close yet it did not matter.
