Heavy rains to persist in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the rains will persist for 1 more day today (Saturday, 16th June) in the Tamil Nadu districts of the northern coastal region and Puducherry.
As the southwest monsoon seasonal winds are blowing with high humidity and the formation of the thermal convection phenomenon, it rained yesterday (Friday, 15th June) in northern coastal districts of Tamil Nadu. There are strong prospects of this condition to persist today as well.
Further, there are prospects of rain in a few places in the districts adjacent to the Western Ghat, Coimbatore, Nilgiri, Nellai, Theni, and Dindigul,
The Chennai Metro City will generally remain cloudy. There are prospects of the formation of thunderclouds during the evening or the night period.
