Recently NEET results were announced and it made huge noises. The news that has come out now is only few students from government and government aided schools would get the precious MBBS seats in this year. This is more or less the same when compared to last year. This is inspite coaching many students from the above mentioned schools to face the NEET.

As per the sources it is now revealed that out of 1344 students who have qualified from the government and government aided schools in the NEET just 10 students have scored above 300 marks. It must be noted that as many as 42 students scored above 200 marks.

It must not be forgotten that in the year 2017 5 students, 2 students in government medical colleges and 3 students in government quota seats in private medical colleges got MBBS admission depending on their NEET marks.  In this year 2018, there are 3 students of BC category who have scored above 300 marks and they have got chance to get admission. Likewise there are 5 students from MBC category who have scored above 200 marks and they also have outside chance. In 2017 the cut-off for BC category was 360 marks. It is surprising to note that in this year 2018 not a single student from ST category belonging to government and government aided schools scored above 200. Nine students from SC category might get MBBS seat.

A student from Rajapalayam who scored 233 marks in NEET this year expressed his thoughts and spoke about how one month residential coaching at Virudhunagar for the Tamil medium students was useful in overcoming the fear about competitive exam. He further spoke about how he understood the difference between plus two board exam and NEET after attending NEET coaching. He highlighted that if he had prepared for NEET from the beginning of the academic year then he would have scored more marks in NEET. He was of view that the government must start coaching from the beginning of the academic year.

Another student from Sivakasi spoke about how she has less chance to get MBBS seat this year. She threw light on the fact that her confidence improved a lot after the NEET coaching. She was of the opinion that the government must open coaching centres in all the cities so that more students would get benefits of NEET coaching. She finally spoke about how she was not able to attend the coaching classes fully as her school conducted special classes in the weekends.
