The northeast monsoon set in very late in Tamil Nadu. There were no enough rains. Because of this farmers and people are very upset. At this juncture the Vardah attacked on 12th of this month. Because of this there was rains to some extant in southern Tamil Nadu but on the whole there was lesser rains in Tamil Nadu this year. There is only few days left for the monsoon to end. People are expecting that there may be rains after some time.

At this juncture, a fresh trough has developed in extreme southeast Bay of Bengal, which at present is affecting the weather over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Because of this, there will be rains in Tamil Nadu on 28th and 29th. There will be no heavy rains. There will be no enough rains because the north east monsoon will be coming to an end soon. There will be rains today in one or two places in Tamil Nadu. This year there was lesser rains by 62 percent. In Chennai there should be 75 cms rains but only 34 cms rains was received.
