Dr. H. V. Hande - a beacon of Selfless Service

Dr. H.V. Hande started his Medical practice in 1950 at Shenoy Nagar, Chennai. The former Health Minister, known for his philanthropic work and also as a Doctor who has been treating poor patients for decades charging a very nominal fee and several times waiving his fee altogether.
To commemorate 65 years of his service to the poor and the downtrodden, a function was called where senior BJP leaders spoke about this genial Doctor who has quietly served the under privileged for over 6 decades and continues to do so even now.
On this occasion, a book written in Tamil by Dr. H.V Hande captioned, Ambedkar and the making of the Indian Constitution was released. With the Tamil Edition being published, the book is now available in four languages, including English, Hindi & Kannada.
The New Tamil version contains the original foreword written by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam and also a message by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. The book has brought out several new facets of Dr. Ambedkar hitherto not known.
Dr. Kalam says, After reading the book of Dr. Hande, I felt that this book containing valuable research and educational experience should become an important guide for legal and political community. Since it is an analysis of the thought process behind Constitution makers, particularly Dr. Ambedkar, I would suggest apart from all the legal professionals and student community, it should be read by the designers of policies, systems and procedures for new institutions and establishments.
Hon Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his Sandesh has congratulated Dr. Hande for making it possible for people to know about the greatness of Dr. Ambedkar.
