Free Health Tests For Victims of the Recent Flooding

Fortis Healthcare is organizing a free outpatient screening test at its hospitals at Adyar and Arcot Road for the victims of the recent flooding. The screening is under five major disciplines - Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Paediatrics.
The overwhelming floods have also led to medical hazards where the general public is exposed to the spread of various water borne diseases, as sewage water has mixed with rain water and has stagnated for weeks, apart from accidents caused due to severely damaged roads.
The screening test in Adyar is going on till December 10. On Arcot Road, the three-day camp is scheduled to begin from December 9. Anyone can walk-in and get a free preliminary screening for these three days. The hospital will also provide prescription medicines free of cost to needy patients.
The hospitals have previously been conducting outreach camps at various areas in the city for the past few days wherein, doctors, along with support staff, are visiting severely affected areas of the city, screening patients for diseases and providing medicines, free of cost on the spot.
