Only cash transactions, ATMs not working properly

ATMs in the city are not yet fully functional. The Point of Sale (POS) machines for credit cards are not working properly in shops, restaurants and petrol bunks.
This has caused considerable unrest in the city as any purchase has become difficult. A student said, Last night after dinner, we were asked to pay cash as the machines were not working owing to network issues. With ATMs also not working, it was tough for us. Shops were accepting only cash. They were hoping machines would begin working on Tuesday.
Some vendors have switched off their POS machines. The water has receded, but our POS machines are not operational,. The one connected to our landline became operational only yesterday and the other machine connected to the mobile has not begun working seamlessly, they say.
