  • Adyar Bakery is providing free bread packets as flood relief.

  • Chennai District Collector Sundravalli and Tiruvallur District Collector announced schools and colleges will remain closed for next two days (Dec 8 -Dec 9).

  • India Met Department outlook has maintained a heavy to very heavy rainfall alert for North-Coastal Tamil Nadu (including Chennai and neighborhood) for today also.
  • The Chennai airport has resumed operations for all domestic and international flights both day and night. 
  • Power is yet to be restored in Manali, Maha Kavi Bharathiar Nagar, Sidco Nagar, Mudichur, Anakaputhur, Pollichazhur, West Tambaram, Pulianthope, Nandanam, Madipakkam, Sholinganallur,  Semencheri, R R Colony, Arumbakkam, Alapakkam, West Mambalam, Ekkatuthangal, Ashok Nagar, Velacherry and Kotturpuram.
  • CMRL services will commence at 5 am on Monday morning. Depending on the passenger inflow, there may be an extension of timings in the evenings as well. The regular timings for CMRL are 6 am to 10 pm. 
  • Train no 12243 Chennai Central- Coimbatore Shatabdi express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 7.15 hours on 7.12.2015 (today) is rescheduled to leave at 10.00hours.
  • MRTS has added two additional night trains as of Sunday. An official from Southern Railway said, If necessary, we will run the night trains on Monday as well. Almost 20,000 more passengers were seen on the MRTS over the past two weeks.
