- Adyar Bakery is providing free bread packets as flood relief.
- Law Colleges Exams Postponed, Madras University Distance Education Exams also postponed
- Chennai District Collector Sundravalli and Tiruvallur District Collector announced schools and colleges will remain closed for next two days (Dec 8 -Dec 9).
- Flood Relief Funds for Agriculural Lands,13,500 for 33% of damaged paddy and other crops per hectare, Rs.18,000 for long term crops per hectare, For Cattles like Cow, Ox Rs.30,000 will be given as relief fund,for Goats and Pig Rs.3,000,and For Hens Rs.100,will be announced as flood relief funds, says Tamilnadu Chief Minister Selvi.J.Jayalalitha

- Train no 12243 Chennai Central- Coimbatore Shatabdi express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 7.15 hours on 7.12.2015 (today) is rescheduled to leave at 10.00hours.
