Retail cracker shops at Island Grounds from 30th

On the occasion of Deepavali, this year 150 new varieties of crackers have been introduced. It has been decided to open retail cracker shops at Island Grounds from 30th.
With only 12 days remaining for Deepavali, the whole sale cracker shops at Chennai Parrys Anderson Street and Bundar Street are doing roaring business. This year 500 varieties of crackers have come for sale. Out of which 150 are new brands. When compared to last year, the prices of crackers have gone up by 12%. Three retail shops have also been setup in Island Grounds. Anna Nagar and Koyambedu Bus Stand.
Cracker merchant K Muhammad who runs a shop in Anderson Street said, The cracker sales is doing brisk business. This year nearly 100 varieties rainbow fun crackers have come into sale. A cracker called Panorama will blast 500 times in the sky and will also give various colours. The latest are bullet train which while ignited will sound like a bullet before going into the air. There is also popular bird called Single Bird which will chirp. There are special crackers for children. For the children there are sparklers with long stems, sparklers with 5 colours, disco flash crackers which will emit various colour lights and mini power plot.
