No restrictions for getting passport: Government school teachers can go abroad!

There are many restrictions for government employees, teachers, public sector employees and officers to obtain passport and to go abroad.
On this front, a circular has been sent by School Education Director Mr. Kannappan to all district primary education officers.
Currently, there are restrictions for government school teachers to go abroad. All teachers employed in government or government-aided schools and officers are allowed to go abroad only if the School Education Director grants prior permission and leave.Thus, they have to apply well in advance when preparing to go abroad.
However, now, there is no need to wait for No Objection Certificate in case of applying for passport or its renewal. Now, the teachers who wish to go abroad will have to send a copy of the passport application to the officer who appointed and submit the passport application directly to the Passport Officer.
Thus, the restriction kept on education department personnel to apply for passport has now been relaxed.
