North East Monsoon rains from 28th October

Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that the North East Monsoon rains will commence from 28th October.
S.R. Ramanan, Director of Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, said the rainfall would gradually increase over the weekend. We expect that a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal by October 26. This will increase rainfall.
The department forecast that many places in districts such as Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, Tirunelveli, Cuddalore, Chennai, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari would receive moderate to heavy rain from October 27.
The upper air cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lankan coast, which extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level, is expected to bring in isolated to moderate rain over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for two days.
