Ayudha Pooja items worth Rs. 10 Crores sold at Chennai Koyambedu wholesale market!

Following the end of Navarathri, the sequence of ‘9 sacred nights’, the festivals of Saraswathi Pooja and Ayudha Pooja was celebrated in grand style by the public as per tradition.
Several sales fairs were conducted in several cities in the state of Tamil Nadu. In the special market fair organized specifically for this festival in Chennai Koyambedu wholesale market, festival pooja items worth Rs. 10 Crores were sold as reported by Koyambdeu Traders Association.
In the special fair set up at Koyambdeu for the festival celebration purposes, there were over 200 shops. The sales this year was higher as compared to last year.
There was roaring business in flower & fruit markets as well.
As there was large number of visitors for buying pooja items, there was some traffic congestion also.
The market administration had put up blockades in order to prevent the traders from occupying the pavements on the roads. More than 50 police personnel have been on duty iin the area regulating the traffic and public movement for the last 3 days.
Last year, the business or sales was relatively low-key as the prevailing political environment was not ok. However, the traders told that the sales was excellent this year.
Koyambedu Traders Association Consultant Mr. V R Soundarararajan informed that there was roaring business in this year. The sales from the fruit & flower market were many times more as compared to usual.
People who put up shops in the special fair also had roaring business. The festival is celebrated by people of all religions. As large number of people arrived, there was heavy traffic congestion in Koyambedu in the last 2 days.
Plantain trees, bananas, and cherries were sold in larger quantities this year.
So, over the last 3 days, business worth 10 Crores of pooja items was conducted.
