Madras Week Celebrations from 16th August

The celebrations of Madras Week will start from August 16 and conclude on 23. Madras Week will feature talks by Chennai Heritage group, lectures in Tamil organized by Roja Muthiah Library, half-a-dozen heritage walks, quizzes, dance and music performances and food festivals. Rotary clubs, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Alliance Francaise, Goethe Institute-Max Mueller Bhavan, Association of British Scholars and the Coin Society are planning events.
Historian V. Sriram said there were a lot of local events and locality celebrations this time; for instance, a textile walk at T. Nagar and a butterfly walk in the Adyar Poonga.
