Magistrate Courts at Egmore will function from today at Allikulam Moore Market complex

Till the construction of a new combined court complex is completed, the Magistrate Courts at Egmore here will function out of the Allikulam Moore Market complex near the Central Railway Station from today (August 1).
Construction work on the new combined court complex would be taken up in two phases, in the first phase, seven court halls would be built, and in the second phase, five.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, which is a heritage building, will be renovated in keeping with archaeological and preservation technologies.
The estimate for the first phase is around Rs. 11 crore, the estimate for the second phase was yet to be received.
