Petrol price cut by Rs 2.43 per litre; diesel by Rs 3.60 per litre

Following a dip in price of crude oil in the international market, India seems to heave a sigh of relief with a reduction in the rates of petrol and diesel.
Petrol and diesel prices are slashed by Rs 2.43 per liter and Rs 3.60 per liter respectively. The price reduction will be effective from 1 August 2015.
Rates will differ from state to state due to differential local sales tax or VAT rates.
In Chennai Petrol price will cost Rs. 64.77 a liter and diesel price will cost Rs. 47.30 per liter.
