Chennaites can now pay property tax online without any transaction fee

The Chennai Corporation has been collecting transaction fee from people who were paying the property tax through online. Now this has been done away. From now onwards no transaction fee will be collected from property tax payers. Chennaites can now pay property tax online on www.chennaicorporation.gov.in by using the online payment gateway services of ICICI Bank without any transaction fee.
Corporation officials said they had signed an agreement with ICICI Bank Ltd to promote the online payment facility.The online payment facility is particularly helpful for people who have properties in the city but work or live abroad.
