Plan for electronic payment system at toll-gates!

The Highway Department Officials informed that an electronic payment system is being implemented at the 7 toll gates in the National Highway between Chennai & Bangalore.
The electronic payment system at the 7 toll gates is scheduled to be introduced in a week’s time. A sticker sensor with electronic device will be fixed at the front end of the vehicles whose owners are ready to accept this payment system.
The payment mode will be similar to the cell-phone usage and payment. Recharging can be done to the required amount at the centres located very near the toll-gates.
Whenever the vehicle enters the area within 100 metres circle of the toll gate, the toll charges will be taken electronically. Agreements will be made on this front with several banks.
In the 1st phase, 2 separate routes will be provided for the vehicles paying in the electronic system. Thus, the traffic congestion during the peak-hours of mornings & evenings will be greatly reduced apart from saving considerable amount of time spent on waiting.
