Chennaites who were experiencing cool weather have started feeling sultry and have started using air-conditioners.
A duty officer of India Meteorological Department said, “We do not expect the temperature to exceed 34`C till the fag-end of February , after which the mercury will steadily rise again.“
The IMD website said the sky was likely to remain partly cloudy over the coming week. Summer is likely to set in by first week of March, when humidity levels and the temperature rise.
