New Permits for autos stopped temporarily

New Permits for Autos in Tamil Nadu has been stopped temporarily. The reason for this, according to the higher officials of RTO, Tamil Nadu is the proliferation in the number of autos.
They said that Tamil Nadu has more number of autos than needed when compared with neighboring states. That too, business people own more autos than individuals do. At this period when new fare for autos has been declared, it is very difficult to regulate these autos by the officers.
New fare for auto is fixed and is being collected from August month and new permit has been stopped temporarily. AITUC State general Secretary Mr. Seshasayanam suggested that permits can be granted for individual auto owners after they are identified.
