Sasi Creative School of Business (SCSB) headed by Rajdeepan Swaminathan has been launched. The Institute initially will focus on a course on Creativity and Innovation.

The School was inaugurated K. Balaji, Managing Director, and Kasturi & Sons Ltd.in Coimbatore on Friday.

C. Rajendiran, Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax, Coimbatore, Paul Nanda, Director, Foxconn Technology Group, China, S.K. Swami, Chairman, Asian Federation of Ad Agencies Association and K. Karunakaran, Vice- Chancellor, Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore and Krish Lakshmikanth ,CEO, Chairman of Headhunters, Bangalore were present and spoke on the occasion.

Creativity can be taught using the right skill sets through constant practice, said K. Balaji, Managing Director, Kasturi and Sons Ltd., here on Friday.“There is a growing recognition that creativity or innovation can be taught and learnt provided there is the right ambience and the freedom to commit mistakes was also available,” he said while inaugurating. That recognition was contrary to common perception that creativity was God`s gift, or it was in the genes, he said and commended the SCSB management for attempting to foster creativity and thinking. K. Karunakaran, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore, observed : “I would like to remind you that professionalism in business is not yet in place, even though this region has shown tremendous entrepreneurship. There is no doubt that these kinds of ‘B` schools will pave the way for professionalism and position industries in the right place in global market.”He said the management education imparted should bring out effective managers out of students to cope with the business complexities in a globalised environment.

Stressing positive attitude, Mr. Karunakaran said the attitude of a person could not be changed, unless he or she wanted to. “The attitudinal change should happen within, which is inner engineering.”

S.K. Swamy, Chairman, Asian Federation of Ad Agencies Association, said India had a long way to go if it were to be a developed economy. “Goldman Sachs has said that India will be the number two economy in the world by 2035 but reaching the position is no easy job. What is pulling us back from marching ahead are lack of infrastructure, corruption, poor education, governance, etc.”He added India was a global player contributing significantly to the global GDP right from the first century to the 17th.

Rajdeepan Swaminathan, Chairman and Managing Director, SCSB, welcomed the gathering and spoke on the idea behind the college. R. Swaminathan, Founder Trustee, Swaminathan Rajalakshmi Educational and Charitable Trust, proposed a vote of thanks.
