Hectic one-way roads and traffic diversions

Travelling through one way routes are like to and fro the moon! This seems totally irksome and time consuming. The city with a large number of more than 40 lakh cars and bikes, traffic diversions make travelling a difficult task to succeed every day. People often end up with their second gear throughout their travel. It takes more time and distance to travel from one place to the other within the city. On the whole, it exceeds the distance by 8 lakh km every day. This seems to be double the distance between earth and moon which is 3.84 lakh km.
This increase in distance owing to traffic diversions accounts to Rs 20 lakh extra towards fuel amount. According to a study made by CMDA, on an average, each and every vehicle travels 1.5 trips every day. It is safer to assume this as 2 trips per day. In that case, every vehicle travels a distance of two kilometers more than the actual distance of their travel destination.
